Thursday we drove to St. George and went shopping, then we headed over to see my Grandma & Grandpa, It was great to see them. After about two hours of visiting we went to Mesquite and stayed at the Eureka. Braylee & Bostyn were dying to swim even though it was 50 degrees and the wind was blowing, I couldn't tell them no. Thank goodness the pool and hot tub were heated so they were warm but I was freezing just watching them.
On Friday we drove to Vegas, we went to the M&M Factory and walked the strip which was pretty scary, I think we saw our life flash before our eyes 2 or 3 times just crossing the road. The kids thought it was pretty neat seeing all the Hotels & Casinos.
After we checked into our room we headed over to Circus Circus Adventure Land. Braylee & Bostyn had so much fun riding the rides, they also got airbrush tattoos.
Braylee wanted her hair braided which only took about ten minutes, it is amazing how fast they can braid. Chevy & I had our portrait done by a Caricature Artist. At about 10:30 we went back to our room and the kids were out like lights.
On Saturday we decided to go to the Hoover Dam since the kids had never seen it and I hadn't been there since I was a kid. Chevy was a nervous wreck, if the kids even wanted to look over the side he was freaking out, legs shaking and all, he was physically sick when we got in the car to leave from his fear of heights. It is amazing to me that he will jump his sand rail and race up and down Sand Mountain at 80 miles and hour, which makes me physically sick from the adrenaline rush, But you put him on a bridge or dam and he is a mess.

After the dam, we went to the pit party at Sam Boyd Stadium. As you can see the kids were able to sit in Grave Digger, and see all the Monster Trucks up close.
The highlight of Bostyn's weekend is when he got to see Travis Pastrana. Bostyn lives for Nitro Circus on MTV on Sunday nights, he absolutely idolizes Travis Pastrana, so when he was able to see him in real life all he kept saying was "Mom, that's the guy that does the back flip on motorcycles, I see him on TV, and I am going to be like him one day." I have to say I actually believe he probably will be doing a back flip on his motorcycle one day. We didn't want to wait in the mile long line for his autograph so we walked up to the front of the line to see if we could see him and he looked right at us and waved and gave a thumbs up for the picture. It was pretty cool, I have to say I was starstruck.
After we watched the parade of all the trucks head over to the stadium, We had great seats thanks to Paul. One of the trucks lost his breaks and rolled into the stands, If I was one of those people watching that truck come at me I think I would have had a major accident if you know what I mean. During the Freestyle competition almost every single truck rolled, it was so cool to see these guys who have put everything into these trucks completely destroy them.
Maximum Destruction ended it with a back flip which Bostyn loved. We had a great time, and are already planning on going back next year, I have to say it was the coolest motor sports event I have ever been to and I would suggest anyone who likes motor sports or horsepower to go, It is something to see. It will be airing on TV soon so I will let you know when so you can see what I am talking about.
Wow, you guys really had a blast. Here's my comments for Chevy. I can't believe he was ballsy enough to wear that ridiculous hat around the Strip, He is visibly grimmacing in the Dam pic, and he looks like a dirty old sugar daddy in you're caricature. Love ya Chev! I don't know how you guys managed to make Vegas a kids vacation! Bravo. My boys love the Nitro Circus too, I think we have it continually rotating on the TiVo. I'll share you're pic with them. Glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteThat looked like an awesome trip! I think it is funny how scared Chevy is of heights, only because Johnny and I are petrified ourselves. Well at least he knew how I felt when he drove me in the sand rail that one time when I screamed like a little girl!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Looks so fun! I second what Brandie said about Chevy and that hat. Too funny. Guess if it keeps his head from getting sunburned it's serving a purpose though. He's such a nerd! But that's why we all love him.
